Rain With A Story
Posted by Nathaniel | Posted in Travels, Uncategorized | Posted on 08-03-2008
It’s pouring here in this suckish land of Pennsylvania. In states near us I think they have snow. Either one is ok, but it has been raining all day. And 6 inches of snow is much more exciting in my point of view than 6 inches of rain. I sometimes look at the ‘map tracker’ where I can see where my visitors are from. All over the world. I’d have to say the most common visitors I get are from Australia, Indonesia, India, or the United States. Not to say there are no visits from somewhere in Europe though. (I’m thinking mostly of the Netherlands) So this inspired me to write a travel story, and since it’s raining I’d like to tell one with rain, and thinking back I don’t recall a visit with rough rain. Except one. But the objection I have to that is that it’s only about an hour-two hours away. I can of course recall times in Ireland or France when it was raining, but not pouring. I’ll tell the story anyway.
I was 3 I think when we went to King of Prussia mall. Our main purpose was to get a (musical) keyboard. I was led into the F.A.O. Schwarz section, and my parents thought it was time for me to get a bear. Not a small teddy bear but a big bear. It was thought that I was going to get deep brown one but I just went to a white one’s lap and sat down. That was the one. I was thinking, “Decided. Good. Smoothie time. I can get my face all dirty. Me like da smoothie!” When we got to the smoothie/cafeteria section, had some food andsmoothies, we heard a loud clap of thunder and the lights went out. “Me scared. Me hear BOOM! BOOM! I don’t like!” Then we knew it was time to leave. Now or never. If we didn’t go soon, 1.) the mall was closing I think, and 2.) we would be caught in pouring rain. As we walked out to the car with all our things, it was already pouring. I clutched to my new found friend big bear. We dashed. the keyboard (musical) took a little longer to load into our wonderful Jaguar, but I was already safe in the car. On the way home It was dark, windy, and with pouring rain. I held to bear tight. All that is just as it is now, though I am not holding bear. I do have him though, but he looks MUCHHH different. That was the story. Stay in touch for the next post coming soon!
I am not positive that this all happened. I did say I was 3

1. Not sure we had the Jaguar yet.
2. The power went out in the mall, which is why it felt like it was closing, because people were leaving because of it.
3. That’s an awful lot of detail for a 3-year-old to remember; nice job!
I remeber that. I am glad you still have big bear
