Switching Over To Firefox

I have now pretty much decided that my main browser will be Mozilla Firefox. I owe this much to tech-buzz.net and and also part to a guest post by Karthik Kastury. It is about 10 great softwares that really help with a website. I have had Firefox for a while but have not really used it that much. I first installed it by following a link from tech-buzz, up at the top. Since sometime in January then I have been reading tech-buzz, by Thilak Raj Rao.

Now, about Firefox. I am not transferring completely, but with websites I am. I can use IE for stupid stuff like you tube videos or games, sites that don’t help you get very far in life. Well, maybe some of youtube is informational, but you can find written information as well. So, a few of the things or add-ons I installed for Firefox are:

StumbleUpon toolbar, which is just a handy toolbar for stumbleupon access, and will help you find information.

The next one I looked into was scribefire, and I am going to see about OpenDNS when I have more time.

Google calendar and Google notebook also work well. Sorry that there’s no link for those but it automatically logs me in.

The last ones I have invested in so far are Firebug and YSlow which work together and help with viewing stats, performance and things. Basically analyzing things.

The other things I am looking forward to! And be sure to read that post! There you can get short descriptions and complete links to the sites they came from to download them.

*Note* Most of the items listed are Firefox add-ons and therefore are only compatible with Firefox. But Firefox is one of the 10 best softwares.

Congrats on the switch — you won’t regret it! The add-ons are a phenomenal advantage. Firefox is the best browser I’ve found for blogging with. Opera retains some advantages, but the add-ons aren’t near as good in my experience.
