Newbies?

Posted by Nathaniel | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 05-06-2008

I have another question for you: are we blogging for newbies? I have always wondered in posts, should I talk to a regular person or make it idiot proof? The problem is, most people are idiots.

So, who should I blog for? Who are my readers?

Now, blogging for newbies, can not-newbies learn things from those posts too? I guess they could. I do not consider myself a newbie. I know pretty much all the information thrown at me through the blogs I read, or the MMO blogs I read. I may not turn this into a strict MMO blog at all, but rather a helpful blog, helping people to do things which is what I’m good at. But how did I get to be good at them?

I think I got to be good at showing people how to make money online because I was shown. It was still not easy learning, but there were things to help. Go visit my “links” page, there is a list of where I learned things from. And Blog Premiere Forum was extremely helpful for some things too. I am just surprised thought that at 12, I might know more about making money online than an adult. Just because you know how to make money online doesn’t mean you do make money online though. This is my case.

Also, another question, am I blogging for returning visitors or new visitors? I know there are some of both, but do I have any regular readers? A lot of my traffic is just lazy entrecarders you drop their card and then leave.

So I am I blogging for newbies or not? I would like if you answered this.

  1. Most people are idiots? Harsh.

I think it’s up to the blogger to determine their audience. I mean, you can write for whom you’re intending to write for, and others will just naturally fall away after time. Things have a way of sorting themselves out.

  2. I see. I guess if I wrote for newbies then the other people wouldn’t come, and vice versa. Because I am not exactly a newbie anymore then I do not read certain blogs as much.

  3. There’s probably some middle ground.

  4. Things are idiot resistent, nothing is idiot proof. People will read you not for how you say it but what you write about.

  5. @ Bigsis – that is some good information. I guess that is true that if I write about what they want, it won’t matter how it is written – for newbies or for masters.
