@ Yan – it is hard to keep the passion alive. As you notice most talk of blogging as work. When I first started I thought of it as something fun, and all I wanted was for people to read what I wrote. Now I still enjoy blogging, but in a different sense.
@ Debudeohar – posting regularly is a great point to talk about, with quality included. This writing was how to narrow down if blogging was for you. And thank you for the compliment.

Yes, I agree with you. But, I think it is only the one’s honest regular posting with quality article makes him/her a good blogger. And the friends like you who give morale support to beginners and also experts to walk on the blogging’s right path.

Welcome for the post Ryan
Making money online has proven much more challenging than I thought, and so has gaining traffic.
In October when Green Flamingo started, having the mush blue theme, it had a different soul. It was more of a personal blog, and also I wanted to get content before promoting it. I thought that when the first link came from lionandmagicboy.com, a fairly popular site, then traffic would start flowing because of people wanting to read of my endeavors. Then the blog changed and so on and I started trying to make money online.

Blogging, and especially blogging to make a few extra dollars has proven to be much more challenging than I originally thought. See I expected to write a few posts (maybe one of two a week) and then get huge amounts of traffic without doing any marketing.
The biggest hurdles I have faced with my entrepreneur blog is bring in traffic. Marketing takes a lot of your time and you need to be prepared to do it otherwise it will be very difficult to grow your blog.
