A Time Of Reflection

Posted by Nathaniel | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 30-11-2008

I had to take this time in November to reflect, on everything. On my life, all where I have lived, experiences that have changed me, habits and traditions I would always come back too. A nice thing it is to be able to reflect, but it also makes you sad.

I want all of you though to take the last remaining moments of November, and reflect years back, until you come to December. Remeber times long ago, and get new ideas and inspiration from them. And allow your self to be sad, allow yourself some of the emotions that tough you. Just keep that spirit coming, and when you look back, you will also see ahead.

Finally A Theme To Stay

Posted by Nathaniel | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 11-11-2008

I have been searching around for days, weeks, months, for a theme to keep for a while, for after the RedWhite theme crash I did not want it anymore. Hopefully, now I have a theme that I will keep for a while, because the colors in it are the ones I have been searching to find for more than half a year.

I hope everyone that is still active with Green Flamingo (probably not many) will appreciate this theme, and if you have any suggestions for it I will be happy to read them.

Going along with our topic of the month,  which is motivation, can say that a new theme and the right theme can really motivate you. If you wake up every day and see your beautiful website looking shiny and sleek you will be encouraged to write and please your audience. Without a good theme then you may not see the satisfaction in your website and will not be easily swayed to write. And if you are changing themes constantly that will create a distraction, so I suggest you to stick with one theme for a while.

The energy of the theme can also effect how you feel and go about your blogging. In the past little “codes” have been determined based on the overall appearance and color scheme of your blog. It is said that red is an expressive color, but not the calm expressive, more of anger and boldness. Blues are more gentle, and dark mixed blues create a good personal blog while a blog with sleek blue will bring out a professional feel. Greens are not as common, but they are a mix of both, usually joyful and trying to get a point across. Blacks and whites just add to the drama, usually much white background representing business like approaches while black backgrounds are directed to personal blogs.

My theme is intesified by green, but I have parts of orange and black which I have looked forward to for a long time. They add “good stuff” to the mix, and the orange really contrasts against the green.

I have seen other blogs that contrast well, without overpowering anything. One of these is ironblogger.

I have also seen many site that blend well with their own stripes and shades of colors.

I hope that you can choose a theme that contrasts or blends well, because that can be important to a good theme, which has a path to motivation, which has a path to success!

How Do You Blog And Make Money Online Succcessfully Without Time And Motivation?

Posted by Nathaniel | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 04-11-2008

To answer my title question, I think it is practically impossible, for though I made a few dollars doing nothing with text link ads, then that really is not substantial to qualify as making money online.

As you probably know and realize, my plan through October failed, for I did not have time energy, or motivation to help my blog back from the heaps again. I have to admit that I made a mistake there, believing I might be able to revive this blog and have everything go back to normal. But you always learn from your mistakes, and the only way to success is a path through mistakes, so who knows what could happen in upcoming months.

This month I have taken on some new challenges this month, including moving. It is hard to move, especially if two people in a family of four are a bit unorganized, and you are always being called on to fix their problems. I am also taking on NanoWrimo, and more will come on that later.

I don’t really want to promise you a month of surprises, for I have failed October with that and I don’t want a repeat. I will promise you a month of hope, and change.

By the way, if you want me to fully answer the title question, don’t be nervous to leave a little note.
