Styles Of Writing

As I mentioned a few days ago, I will be sharing some of the styles of writing that can be used during blogging. All the ways you compose your posts, introductions, and and pages have an effect on your blog and the reader base that you will have.
The Casual Style
I have noticed most popular and successful bloggers use a writing style that is casual, but still professional and to the point at the same time. At points there may be interaction with the reader, like the blogger is talking to another person, or to an audience. This way seems to work well among most, for it gives everyone a sense of a community, which is nice to know you are supported. For a blog anything like this one, about blogging, then I would reccommend this type of writing.
The reader base that will result will probably be other bloggers, which is what most of you are used to seeing, and it will make the site even more of a community.
Professional Style
A very professional style might be used on sites with good services, or other sites like interior design, architecture, etc. This works well for applying to large audiences, and embraces the general public giving them a feel that the site they are reading off of it in it’s place to do business. This form of writing is not as commonly found within the “blogging” niche sites.
Usually websites that use a professional form of writing do not have a continuous reader base, unless they have subscriptions on an email list. You will often just come across a site like this, and use it for their goods and services, not for content.
Promotion Style
I just call it the “promotion” style to be nice, but it is really like commercials where the writer is trying to entice you with something, and writing in that very persuasive tone, maybe even stretching the truth while trying to promote something. Often that form of writing it considered spammy, and I would avoid using it, unless absolutely nessecary.
Websites that write in this form may not have much of an established reader base, though new people may stop in because of keywords, making the uniques for the websites pretty high.
All the Others
There are a few more forms of writing that are used, but they are not so much forms themselves as they are expansions on the other styles of writing. For example, sometimes writers are a bit sloppy with grammy and structuring of the peice, but that is not an original form, it can apply to almost any of them.
By the way, none of the style names are official, they are just what I decided to title them for categories. I hope you can evaluate the choices and pick what works for you, and target what readers you want and what message you want to send out. Good luck!
