Besides announcing the grand opening of the interior design services, then I am here to talk a bit about some of the recent designs I have been doing.

I have totally redone or cleaned up my room, I wish I had time to take a picture or I wish I had a mac with photobooth. I am still not completely settled, maybe some books aren’t unpacked, but I might be moving again soon so darn the whole thing. If I do have to move within the next few months it’ll be like smelling fresh flowers and at the same time a huge pain in the ass. While it will force the rest of my family to get rid of the junk they don’t need (at least some of it I hope!) then I will have to worry that the nutty movers will crack my desk or even snap the side of my dresser off. I also have to pack everything, and though I can do it in a few weekends (I am only doing my things, no one else’s) I still do not want to waste the time. I am not sure if we are going to move even, so I might trash the idea.

I have worked on some fantasy designs, I have a bit of an interior design scheme going, but I think it might be mostly architecture. I hope I will be able to draw these, and then I can publish as part of my illustration portfolio. I need some kind of drawing software, or maybe I have to take furniture drawing lessons (I am good at drawing but maybe not the best at staying focused and perfect details). If anyone has any recommendations for me then I would greatly appreciate those.

These ideas I have in mind would take place in an apartment type building, but not what your thinking. I will try to give you a good picture. Here is a little exercise for you.

Creating a picture

Think Vancouver.

Think tall, glossy, open building.

Think fresh.

Think hotel type.

Think home.

You should now have a picture in your mind, if you can follow that kind of concept. Though it is a bit vague, you can see something there, and you should get an energy, that is most important.

Now think unique.

Think different.

Think sleek.

Think white.

Think wood.

Think metal.

Think beautiful.

Now you should have more of a picture in your mind, it should be developing as an idea. Though it may not be what I see, I am still creating a vision for you which can be treasured.

Think tall.

Think open.

Think window.

Think curves.

Think layers.

Think futuristic.

These are the basic structures, while the others were the styles. Now we move on to dining.

Think red.

Think restaurant.

Think marble.

Think lights.

Think metallic.

Think interior design 2.0.

Those are some characteristics of the kitchen and dining space, now I bet you are getting a clear picture.

Think high.

Think snug.

Think green.

Think orange.

Think brown.

Think books.

Think music.

Think red.

Think bamboo.

Think Ikea.

Think pictures.

These are features of the bedroom. There are some characteristics that fit all categories, follow what you see and you will find them. I am not here to show you the destination, I am here to show you the path.

On June 1st Green Flamingo Designs went live!

I am very pleased that the launch was able to happen, it came at just the right time, a turning point in our calendar.

A bit about the site and how it’s doing – The site does not have much content, but I am working to write that while keeping up with this blog and reading other blogs. There is something messed up with the header, I may fix it by the time you see it, but maybe not. It first was how the site name would not show, and only the theme name, but I did something to that and now there is this messed up title there I cannot fix. There are major things I will be changing, and I hope that those work. I might also use a different background image for the header, or make the header bigger somehow.

Have you noticed ?-? Green-flamingo has some major changes as well. It was expressed to me that reading white on black was difficult, and I decided to change it to an orangish yellow. That is not all that was changed. There were more changes, and more to come, but that was the most noticeable.

Sorry for not posting this yesterday. The site wasn’t up until it ws changed that the site was redirected to localhost. I coul have posted last night, but it was a little late.

Comparing the two sites, this one will still have much to do with green flamingo designs, but this one will show more behind the scenes while that is more strictly professional.

Basic over view – the basic overview, probably when I link to them on the other site, this will be the little description. If you are looking for some semi expensive, and you have that money to spend, head on over to eurway.com and check out what they have!

Why I like it – Well, why is Eurway.com so good? How did it catch my eye? I will first tell you how I came across it. In the mail, there was this FAB magazine or whatever, Eurway’s magazine. I saw what I like in there. There were specific themes maybe for a certain page, and everything was not just abstract furniture. Things fit together nicely. After I looked at the price of some of these though, it was a little different, but their furniture is still just as good.

Lucky for you – If you check out the site and like it, there is a sale until May 27th! You can get things on sale (Really on sale! A $500 thing in the $300 range)! So why don’t you go take a look at the sale section. I would!

Furniture is great. Site? – The furniture is fine for me, but the site gets on my nerves. No matter where I go I will be picky about how a website looks, and how easy it is to navigate one. I became apparent to me that in the sidebar some of that print is barely readable! Now the problem I have with eurway.com is the navigation. It is hard to get around. Things aren’t organized well in my opinion. Once you go into a category, you have to click other things in that same category, then once you click there a some furniture or accessories shown, but the only way to get back is to either go into that first category, then into the sub category again, o press back. I hate pressing the back button, I don’t know why, but it is annoying. I am also annoyed that eurway, with a professional website doesn’t take the time to link back to that other page.

So, I still recommend you to Eurway, but if you want something expensive on a hard to navigate site.

For your information – this is NOT a paid review, I just decided to review this because it seemed worth it. I am not advertising either, I am just showing you one of the resources I will use to find furniture, and relaying that on to you with information I found. I am packing all my things, starting with some of my closet things, and then eventually will come books, toys, and so on. Now, at my destination, I think I might even switch rooms, and have the room I have here (same house layout, funny eh?). In that case, things might work for me. Over at the non-blogging house, my destination, I will have to move the legos into a concentrated area instead of having them eat up the whole floor. Work has begun on this. Also, if I am going to switch rooms with my sister, then she will have to cooperate (I haven’t addressed the idea yet, I thought of it a few minutes ago and I don’t want to interrupt my writing), and have her move all of her stuff, and besides the cooperation that may be hard, especially because of her big fat dresser (we might not keep that though, it is scratched up, and was my older sister’s before, but we may sell it). I am using a lot of commas!(like you haven’t noticed).And a lot of parentheses! (Did you see that coming either, huh? Huh?). So their I will have to do something with my bed, because I have taken on to a low bed now. I will keep most of the things I had at the blogging house, because those are the things I like and have lived with, and I want my spirit to live on and not to be sucked into a world of hopelessness where I cannot clean anything, instead I will have one room at least that is clean and uncluttered, even if mission-the-rest-of-the-house fails. Those are my plans. So wish me luck on my mission, I will see if I can complete it, and complete it at that with the serenity of a jedi knight, though that will be very hard to accomplish.

In my research I came about a site that first asks you some questions. You check the category off if it applies to you. All of the categories applied to me. The categories were:

Do you have an interest in physical spaces? When you are in a space do you tend to take notice of your surroundings?

Do you frequently make suggestions on how to improve your home surroundings, or do you like to design or redesign your personal space?

Can you some day see yourself as the person responsible for redesigning the interior of your school, your favorite restaurant or nightspot, or a clothing store?

Are you creative or artistic?

Do you work well in teams to solve problems and overcome challenges?

I wonder if it is ironic that all the categories applied to me, but they did. I may be made to be a designer. Do you have what it takes?
