What Is Looked For In A Blogger

Posted by Posted in Blogging Tips, Make Money Online, Uncategorized, business Posted on 20-07-2008

There are many things that one blogger looks for in another blogger. If you want to become someone great and looked up to online, you have to have things typical of a blogger, so others can recognize you know what your doing. You also have to have things unique to you, for if you look like every other blogger they see the visitors will feel no need to stay or help you.

We will mainly focus on a blogger’s content, though the design is very important, and one of the first things measured to judge you. If you want to enter a big $ cracking deal, you will have to mainly focus on your content for someone to notice you and get a big opportunity.

Again, unique - I will say it again, but you must have something unique to present to your readers. Maybe if you write in a certain style that really appeals, or you have some tips that are hard to find anywhere else. You could offer a service as well, and even if you can get that service elsewhere, try to add something to it that is just you.

Post often, keep your readers excited - if looking for a joint venture with one of your readers, you will have to show that person you can produce rock hard content. You must break through the glass not only once, but once every post. Get on Digg’s frontpage as often as you can.

Spoon feed them - deal out your best content to everyone, from newbies to experienced webmasters. Really what you should do is turn those newbies into people making $200 a day, as you should be yourself. So spoon feed those newbies so they know what they’re doing, and try not to set any traps. If there are areas that might be hard to navigate, be sure to encourage questions that you will answer.

Something special - this may be similar to having unique content, but at the same time different. Offer something special to the reader, not special to you. It may tie with a unique service, but you have to make your readers feel special to keep coming back.

Rock hard - one of the most important things in your content is to make sure it is solid and won’t break through. This is another that ties together with the others, but it requires you to have pure ideas and a strong mind. Even if you were born thinking crap, you can train yourself to produce the rock hard read all the way.

Don’t be shy - don’t be afraid to tell your readers a bit about yourself, offer a deal, or let them in on secrets to blogging. These might be some of the things that make you unique, so keep at it and stand out. Get out on the stage and rock the house down!

Don’t overdo it - though you don’t want to be shy, you shouldn’t overdo it either. If you go too far, nobody will follow along your lines. I am sure you can discern the right amount of what you do.

Well, those are the tips I have for you today. I would really appreciate if you took time to Stumble or Digg this post, as I think it is very good. We will continue with the theme look later.

Website Flipping [Part 2]

Posted by Posted in Blogging Tips, Make Money Online, Uncategorized Posted on 07-07-2008

Tags: , , , , ,

This post goes with my last post of website flipping, and ties together how I am entering website flipping and other things related. In the last post I apologize for the lack of information, maybe that is why it got no comments yet. I described how website flipping can be a benefit to you, what it is and here I am telling how to use it and how I use it. As said before, website flipping is done to create a fairly easy source of income, that is if you are good at raising websites. What will happen is you build a website and then sell it, and the process repeats itself on and on. Here are some tips to help you with website flipping, or really, raising a website.

Raising traffic

Raising traffic is very important for all the aspects of a website. Comments, ranks, revenue, RSS subscribers all depend on the traffic. If there is no traffic to your site, it is dead.

  • Read and comment on other blogger’s sites
  • advertise
  • forum post
  • create email lists (you have to know what to do with them though)
  • offline promotion
  • social sites

Raising Subscribers

Raising subscribers is also very important for raising a successful blog and selling it. Many sites are judged by the amount of subscribers attained.

  • Incentives to subscribe, such as free treats for subscribing (is there anyone I know who doesn’t do this?)
  • Big RSS button and email form
  • RSS and email option at the end of a post

Raising Revenue

What is gained off a blog is also very important, especially in buying and selling.

  • Join affiliate programs
  • Run private ad sales
  • sell products and services

These are the tips to help you be successful in website flipping, buying and selling. Happy blogging!

As I said I would also tell how I use and will use website flipping. I am planning to start one more “temporarily permanent” site, and then I will start flipping websites, one of the first ones to be a cooking one followed by an MMO or another blogging tips website. What I am worried about is trying to run 4 websites at a time, Green Flamingo, Green Flamingo Designs, my mystery website(I know what it will be), and the one to be flipped or sold. I will have to get used to managing all those, and I know I will call upon help. Once I get a “blog” page for my blog posts on Green Flamingo Designs, I will begin hiring writers at a low cost so I am not so caught up in fishing for content. For the new site I will have a little help with as well, from a friend of mine who is thought to be dead by most. That friend will be an admin too, and will have a few stories for you when I am not around.

Those are my plans for website flipping and updates, soon I will reveal the mystery website and behind the scenes peeks at it! I want it to be a hit in one week, which is why I have to start up some content and plans before I lauch it, I don’t know how people get settled with all their pages and what not in a day. If everyone tells me they would like to hear about this mystery site, I wil reveal it sooner with further looks, maybe even tomorrow. I do not want to bore people, but it they want to hear about it I will be more than happy to share!

John Chow?

What happens when someone mentions the name John Chow? Does the crowd awe in respect, or do they critisize him of being a greedy bastard? Which is it? I have so many questions of the opinion of him, because I have heard a lot.

Gathering The Evidence

On his site I have seen people criticize him and call him greedy, I have seen people cheer him on. I want to know what is behind their minds.

Jealousy - do people criticize John Chow because they are jealous of him? Are they jealous that he makes $30,000 a month and they make $0? A lot of people accuse him of being greedy, saying he should give all his money to charity. Isn’t he just one of the lucky ones that manages to get really rich? Or is he so rich because he worked hard to get in the status he is in now?

Respect - There are also those that respect him, look up to John Chow as an idol, and attempt to follow his footsteps. But are some of the ones respecting him so he will not get mad? And so they can get promotion? Brian Campbell met him at a bookstore/starbucks in Vancouver to deliver to him a 10,000 check, because Brian thought he owed the money to John Chow for posting about his goal of reaching 10,000 in 37 days with Facebook. Brian treated John with utmost respect in the video. But behind that shade, is there jealously lurking?

I am not sure of what people really think of this man, and I will never know…

Some people have never heard of John Chow…

Some people visit his blog everyday and comment…

Some people spend all their time criticizing John Chow and telling people he is a bad person…

I know someone who lives in Vancouver and has not heard of John Chow, and people may gape at that, but it is different from my next door neighbors never hearing of me? (Maybe it is, but not all that much)

I am not asking you a question, I am only sharing with you my wonder about what goes on behind his back.

Inspirations for this post: As you may notice, John Chow is on my entrecard widget (by the time you read it he may be gone). On Blog Premiere Forum Tom from StandOutBlogger talked about having John Chow on his widget in a few days. John Chow had many of his local readers come and visit him and watch him receive a 10,000 check from Brian Campbell. I needed something to write.

Free Custom Logo

A post in my make money online section, “get a free custom logo.” I am not the one making them, but I know someone who will make one for you in return for a little favor. The favor is NOT a blog post about it, but I am writing one to be courteous and to show you something valuable, as well as have it as a blog post.

I read about it over at one of the new blogs I found, moneymakerboy.com, and thought I would try it out. You get the logo from Logo Angel, with a title of someone I would not usually buy from. But it’s free!

Here are some samples:

Supposedly, all you have to do is link to three sites, and then email the guy heading the site and he will make the logo for you. Here is what he said:

“So How Can I Get My Free Logo?

All you have to do is email the admin of logoangel at angle.crew@hotmail.com or logoangel@gmail.com and tell him that you will want to trade backlinks for a logo and he will give you these 3 websites to link to:

once you put them on your site tell him the style of your logo and the color or choose a logo from the samples if you want and your logo will be ready the next morning!”

The only problem is that I am not sure when it was posted, but I think it was today for on this sidebar type thing it says posted June 24th. Best of luck.

Tell me if this works and you like it! I am trying it myself.

Launch Of Green Flamingo Designs!

Posted by Posted in Interior Design, Make Money Online, business Posted on 02-06-2008

On May 31st the domain was bought…

On May 31st files were transferred with difficulty to the host from local host or xampp…

On June 1st Green Flamingo Designs went live!

I am very pleased that the launch was able to happen, it came at just the right time, a turning point in our calendar.

A bit about the site and how it’s doing - The site does not have much content, but I am working to write that while keeping up with this blog and reading other blogs. There is something messed up with the header, I may fix it by the time you see it, but maybe not. It first was how the site name would not show, and only the theme name, but I did something to that and now there is this messed up title there I cannot fix. There are major things I will be changing, and I hope that those work. I might also use a different background image for the header, or make the header bigger somehow.

Have you noticed ?-? Green-flamingo has some major changes as well. It was expressed to me that reading white on black was difficult, and I decided to change it to an orangish yellow. That is not all that was changed. There were more changes, and more to come, but that was the most noticeable.

Sorry for not posting this yesterday. The site wasn’t up until it ws changed that the site was redirected to localhost. I coul have posted last night, but it was a little late.

Comparing the two sites, this one will still have much to do with green flamingo designs, but this one will show more behind the scenes while that is more strictly professional.

Writer VS Theme Designer

Posted by Posted in Make Money Online, Uncategorized, business, competition Posted on 31-05-2008

Tags: , , , , ,

Well, let’s have a little competition here right? We are going to do a writer, you or probably, VS a theme designer. I have lots to say, so hold on.

What money they make - how much money a theme designer vs. a blogger makes all depends. It could be a really popular blogger, and the theme designer could make really good themes. But as an average, what is it? The theme designer could easily make 50-100 dollars on a theme, for a single sale. A blogger might easily make that much money in a day. Now let’s see take a closer and deeper look.

The theme designer, say, makes 2 themes per month, and each costs $80. The themes both sell about 50 copies. That would be $8000 a month. Now it may be hard to sell 50 copies of those things, but who knows.

Say the blogger makes $100 per day (I know for some of you that is a breeze, but live with it, because most people don’t make much more than that), and if the month they are in has 30 days, they will make $3000.

Neither of those are bad, they are both quite good. And since a lot of bloggers make more then $100 a day, they would make more. And I am sorry for all of you who do not use the dollar, but I’m sure you get the point how money adds up. Winner for this round: theme designer.

Is it worth it - Now we have to test which is easier and worth the time.

The theme designer is spending a lot of time and effort to make those themes. The blogger is writing, marketing, and joining more affiliate programs. The harder is the theme designer. The blogger looks easier. We now must take another dive into the ocean.

The theme designer, first he has to learn how to make a theme. Well, just learn html, css, xhtml, php, and so on. I have tried it and figured out it is hard. Then the theme designer will have to remember all that information, and make a good looking theme out of it. The theme has to stand out. And if the theme designer can’t stand up after making the theme, the theme doesn’t stand out.

The blogger on the other hand only needs to know how to read and write with style. For starting up a blog you can use some of the idiot proof guides made. So after that soon-to-be-blogger learns how to blog, then he starts making money. Now, while the theme designer only needs some good promotion to get his themes selling, the blogger will toil the long ours promoting his work while trying to find time to write.

Now we have to look at the results of those toils, the theme designer is designing some big mulah while the blogger, after the hard work in the beginning is riding down the road of rich ease. So both have good results for their work, but there is more work required for the theme designer than the blogger. Winner for this round: blogger.

The final winner is open ended for you to decide which you think is best. I think the ultimate winner is doing both, maybe having a website of theme design and offering themes too.

Thank you BlogOH!Blog for in a way inspiring me to this idea, and to 2phatgeeks for showing me to the blogoh!blog website.

A little update - I may be changing my theme soon. I have found some nice themes on BlogOh!Blog and I may use them. It may seem not worth it after all the work done to this theme, but I think it may be time for a change. And, if I want this theme back, my updates will still be on it.

Want To Be Cut To Pieces?

Posted by Posted in Make Money Online, business Posted on 30-05-2008

Tags: , , , , , , , ,

Expanding on the title, when I had this idea I was thinking of using a ninja sword, but now I am thinking a lightsaber would go through more easily. Actually, I know a lightsaber would cut you more easily.

Let’s actually think, shall we? I am not playing video games( I could think about cutting you to pieces in real life I suppose, but I would charge a fee) . I am here to talk about writing style again. You do not want to be cut to pieces in the in the way to write, or because of how you write. You have to nail it right on the point. To do this you must: Stick and stabilize a pencil in the new-guy-at-work’s chair, somehow make something that can blast sites for ALL to see, not just on your computer, and blast your rival’s site(You could always change the title too “make crap online” instead of make money online or whatever). But the easiest way is to just hit the point in your writing, collecting readers with that spike that catches them if they come in 500 feet from your post.

The point is, you have to draw people in. Otherwise you will be eaten by the boredom that comes with your posts, you have to keep them lively. Another reason I don’t care for MMO blogs (the kilometer/mile long posts was another), they have their posts all dull and directing, telling you what to do. (If I link to you, then not you. Take no offense people, this is an MMO blog, so if making fun of anybody I am making fun of myself). Do not take that last thing too hard, I am not going to pretend I didn’t say it, but don’t make a huge fuss over it.

I missed my point, right? So really, if you keep it lively and shoot a glass of humor at us once in a while, we, the readers will be much more entertained. The other thing is:

Drag them in - You have to catch your readers, this may not be so difficult in readers that are coming back, but for new people. A few things to drag people into a post are: Having a catchy title, and to compensate for your lack of titling skills you can try to make them like you in the first few sentences of your first paragraph, but that is risky. So it is best to have a good title and a start that will draw one in. What to say to draw them in I will leave up to you.

The very bottom line - summing up my tip. Let’s add the previous on too. Keep it short, keep it exciting, keep drawing them in.

I hope this helps you to gain more readers that come back, and if you could just create me a custom theme that’d be great (not seriously, just kidding). I am sorry for the lack of posts yesterday, maybe it was because I wasn’t busy that made me busy.

Ideas And Updates Part Three

Posted by Posted in Make Money Online, business Posted on 28-05-2008

Tags: , , ,

Well, I am slacking off. Published late in the day, this post is useless on the 28th for some people. Anyway, this is the last in the Ideas And Updates series. This is the advice.

Here is it…

drum roll if you want and you have drums…

keep things short

That is my advice to you. I should tell you why as well.

Most make money online bloggers sort of target those longer posts, the ones that will have people marvel at their writing skill. They use unnecessary words, to many its and thats and so on.I read posts that if they were converted to a distance, would be kilometers or miles long. Take The University Kid for example. His posts are those page long posts. It takes you a while to read them. They can be good, with  lot of information, be he could cut down on word usage. Now Jason’s posts are not usually the ones that use extra words, they are just really long. Why target long posts? If you have something really long to say, you might consider breaking it down into other, smaller posts. These three in the series, when I posted the first one, I was originally going to put it all into one huge post, three topics, but I decided to do this series. This, my 103rd published post, could have been my hundred and first if not broken down (more posts doesn’t really mean anything either by the way). So keep things short and to a minimum. Your readers don’t like those kilometer/mile long posts either.

Ideas And Updates Part Two

Posted by Posted in Make Money Online, Uncategorized, business Posted on 27-05-2008

Tags: , , , , ,

Time for the updates people. Get rockin’ with new things. I have a few things to tell you about the progress of myself and this blog.

So, what has been updated? Look at the top links. They all work. That is all except blog, an since this is a blog, I don’t need anything there. Any ideas to change it to? If so let me know. The about page is getting settled, I am still not finished, but it works for now. I may put child pages under the about page, because there are so many categories. The contact page is working, no contact form but enough ways that you can contact me, either through email or through instant messaging.

As you probably noticed, and how it has been that way for about a week, the RSS button is much bigger. I give a special thanks to Big Ben Patton for helping me with this.

I have been working on fulfilling some of the suggestions sent out to me at Blog Premiere, one of which is a header logo. I created a button, now only to get it in there properly. I now learned that the style sheet controls colors and sizes and other stuff (dumb newbie, aren’t I?) which helps me a bit in trying to increase the size of certain elements.

These are updates for my website, and I have other updates too. These could have fallen in ideas, but who cares.

I am writing a book/ebook guiding you to live a better life. You may think I cannot accomplish this feat, but I think I will. If you know, I type an average of 5000 words a day, including blog posts, comments, IM, etc. So I hope I will be able to step up the pace, and maybe slow down how long my comments are, some of them are a few paragraphs long.

Look for the next post on advice to being a better writer! I will see you soon!
