This post continues the “birthday time” trend set over a year ago on Green Flamingo. Today is my younger sister’s birthday, and she goes from 8 to 9. It is cool how you can always look at the year and know her age, for she was born on the millennium.
2008 has been a great year for her, she has really changed from who she was a year ago. She has new friends, acts differently, and has different interests. I think this will be another great year, we’ll she what it brings her!
We are having a little celebration in our cottage we are staying at for a week. Over the weekend she had a party, and saw all her friends, so today is a little more low-key. But there is nothing that can stop her from having a special feeling about her birthday.
In December, when I was not really blogging, then there were some holidays this blog skipped hearing about, but I will mention them now because today is a holiday for me and our family. The first of those holidays was my birthday, which means now I am 13, and of course my “about” page is incorrect (new edition coming soon: under construction). To give a quick recap, I had a great time. I got a haircut, (for my hair was getting long), I saw the movie “Yes Man” with my friend, and I got some great presents. I was sick during that week however, but I felt better then, plus school was canceled due to snow on my birthday which I felt happy about.
The second holiday was Christmas, which I also enjoyed. Though I thought we might not have such a great time as a family, we did anyway.
I did cover New Years briefly, and on New Years day we traveled to Washington DC.
So I think that says it all! Happy belated holidays!

Well another birthday is rolling around, and as you may know I tend to celebrate birthdays and holidays on my blog onece in a while. This will be he second post in July out of my niche, and also my second one full of fluffy content, but at least it’s easy. Today we honor the birthday of Jack, he is my uncle and has actually been able to celebrate his birthday with us. Yesterday was the real celebration, for it was then that we went to the amusement park, made a cake and ate some, having a typical “happy birthday” kind of thing. The day is pretty much over, and I hope that he has enjoyed these days. That’ll be all the fluff for now!

Well, happy belated birthday to my mom, birthday of April 30th. As I have done in the past for my sister, dad, and so on, though I forgot my brother in November, (look at the archives of Nov and you will only find 1 or 2, that is why) I have talked about birthdays. That was it!

Today is my dad’s birthday! Happy Birthday! I wasn’t with him for most of it, though now I am, writing in my semi comfortable or semi uncomfortable blogging place, not that it is hard, it is a beanbag chair. Anyway, happy birth day. (I advise you read the other below this)
Well, today Serena had her birthday at our mom’s house, though today isn’t her real birthday. We had angel food cake with strawberries and raspberries (yum) and practically at the same time, at least we didn’t move from our place, she opened her presents. The first one, wrapped in a I think yellow-pink silk (these were already obtained, the silks were not gifts), was a set of books (2), about Ramona by Beverly Cleary. Now mind you, Serena is turning 8, maybe I forgot to tell you that in the last post. Ok, the second present, wrapped in a light-purple silk, to my surprise was a game-boy. Huh! I never would have guessed. And the third present, to go with the gameboy, a pack of games. The last present, I had no idea of the contents of this either, was a pastel-drawn horse (not bought), with very bright colors that did not go to it like that it was green, with a very beautiful blending background. You may think the color choice is odd, but it looks very nice, I was one of the ones who started that kind of thing in our family. Well, that’s the presents, I’m sorry I don’t have much more to tell about this, some thing that was the metaphorical part to it. But any way, see you later!

Why can’t you special effect stuff in the title? That’s stupid! Wordpress, your ok, but next time you disappoint me you’re gonna be on the hook! Oh, and I spell-checked just now, and it doesn’t want me to have “ok,” even when it was in the word “hook.” So, sorry about that, I get a little irritated sometimes at these things. Back to the subject. “Birthday Time.” You remember that from about a month ago when it was my birthday, but today was Serena my sister’s birthday who is turning 8. The only word I will say to describe this being is “ninja.” (nobody tell her it was that word. She’ll be mad at me for blowing the secret) I, as a matter of fact, am officially a “ninja in training.” So, today was Serena’s birthday. Oh, now of course I forget about the events that proceeded, but I’ll tell you what I remember with my bad memory that is perfect compared to other people’s. (like all of yours. I can more in depth about that concept later) This afternoon, she went on a treasure hunt for her present. (we’re at our dad’s house and I am a very crafty hider of top secret presents so tell me if you need help) It turned out to be a flashlight, a 21 LED one. And even now, not to veer off the subject or anything, I think, “the people reading this have no idea what I’m talking about.” Is that true? Well if it is, notify me and I will try to write more in depth. But don’t be too picky because guess what? I’m not writing a book here people, I’m writing a blog. If you want me to right a book for you, I will, if you pay me at-least 50,000 dollars. So remember, I’m writing a blog. A book? Hell no. And to get back to the birthday, which I have veered off so many times, she also got two video games that she picked out (enjoyable for me too). This was only at our dad’s, there be much more to come in the future about this subject. But I have school tomorrow, and need to get some sleep. Bye! (Don’t you even thinkabout hacking my blog. You only have the privilege to read it).
I bet this is what everybody is talking about tonight, and you certainly don’t have to read my blog tonight, but here it is anyway. Today when I woke up I remembered my weird dream, which was about Christmas. And after I woke up I was surprised, like “what happened,” and then I saw my room and thought, this is the real Christmas. After that I went downstairs, and opened up what was in my stocking. It turned out that I had some very interesting presents in there, and it was the first time I received a pack of candy, besides Pez. Later after everybody shuffled down-stairs, we were opening the big presents ( the ones under the tree, not necessarily meaning they were big) and I opened mine too, first the book The Hobbit, which I had read before, but that was a library book and I wanted to own it. The next presents I opened were a little decorated box, handcrafted in India, and had something to do with Boulder, Colorado, where I lived from the summer of 2005-2006, and a Lego matching thing that my sister bought at her school-Christmas shopping. The last presents I opened are electronics, one an iPod dock and the other a Gateway laptop which I am entering my first post on right now! This Christmas I am very happy, and nobody was too severely sick, either. I hope you enjoyed your Christmas just as I did. Also, if you are a common reader of Green-Flamingo, I would enjoy reading the blogs of my viewers, so just enter a comment to show me to your sight.

To all my new viewers that I have picked up from links, welcome! Read all past posts to catch up on things. Now, as I said last night, tonight I will tell you about the Cirque du Soleil show I saw. Here it is: Yesterday we started off from the house and had our two-hour drive to New York City, where we dawdled around until the show began. When we got into the theatre, ( the WaMu theater at Madison Square Garden), I already had that magical feeling, seeing the massive set and with the ice layers. The show we saw was called Wintuk, and it was basically about a boy who wanted it to snow, of course with Cirque adding to it all their tricks. It started a scene with all these people skateboarding, and rollerblading just like in a skate park, except this ground gave you the impression of ice. The following scenes carried on with their tricks, first some about a pickpocket and cycling police, who was an interesting character because his tricks and “policemanness” combined. After that there was juggling, a person who looked like a doll, but was really an extremely flexible human. There were more, some acts are just to hard to explain. I will tell you one thing though, at the end it snowed, all over the audience! Since we were close to the stage, we caught a lot of the little paper snowflakes. This was a wonderful experience which I will treasure. I hope you all have a chance to see something like this, sometime, maybe you already have! Oh, one more thing I forgot but I know you’re wondering. Presents! Just to tell you, and to get your mind away from it I got a Indiglo watch, a Canon powershot A560 camera (I’ve been taking pictures all day with it), a mystery type book, Inkheart, and a memory card to go with the camera! From my dad I received a very bright flashlight which can be used as a weapon, and sometime soon we’re going to shop for a scientific calculator. Well, that’s about all I have to say, and again, feel free to comment on anything related to these subjects.
