Being Thrown Around

Yesterday I was thrown around - don’t worry though for it was in a good way. First I have some updates for you.

Mozilla Firefox 3.0 - After my last post yesterday, I bet there were mixed thoughts on Firefox 3.0. But now I must assure you to download it. I am not going to delete that post, for it showed my thoughts at the time, but I am going to tell you that it is fine.

  • The add-ons are now updated, and they are upgraded too. Some may still be behind, but I assume those will come soon.
  • Now that I have my Google Toolbar back, all customized, along with some other upgraded add-ons, I do not see the resemblance as much to the ugly-in-my-mind-Internet Explorer. This is a big bonus.

Enough with that update, and now we move on. As I said, I was being thrown around yesterday - on roller coasters. I had never been on so many rides before, and these were huge. A few I went on three times, the really big ones, and some other fun ones I went on twice. Here we go!

Hydra - I think the Hydra is my favorite roller coaster there, though the first time I was on it was Sunday. I also think the Hydra throws you around the most, starting off out of the station with a twist, and having seven inversions. Follow the link in the name to find out more. I went on it three times yesterday.  One of those three times I was in the front, which was really the experience, though because of the wind and having my eyes and nose open my nose was running and my eyes watering.

Hydra

Thunderhawk - this one I have been on a few times before, it is a rickety wooden coaster that bangs me up and throws me around ’till the end, but still enjoyable. I went on this twice.

Voodoo - this came out new just a month ago I think, and it is one of the freakiest.  You shoot out of the station and up 90 degrees to the ground. Then you free fall back down to the station and go up backwards. On the second time going backwards, also the last, as you are about to go down it stops you, jerking your shoulders against the seat in a most painful way, and then continuing to go up around the twist once more and stop at the station. This freaky ride I went on three times yesterday, and once in the back.

Voodoo

The Whip - not a thrill ride, all I did was sit there, whipping around while I joyfully watched two pairs of sunglasses fall off and one pair get crushed. Not much other than that though.

Wild Mouse - I have been on this ride before as well, and this one we waited a painful 20 minutes just to get rude service and break our wrists. It jerks you around so much, and unfortunately the workers there were really bitchy. This I defiantly only went on once.

Some water stuff - after we had some lunch we headed over to the WildWater Kingdom to get wet. The downside was the water was FREEZING! There were still a few fun rides, and of course the kiddie pool things were warm because of the pee.

Talon - back to the real Dorney! The Talon was feared, very much, but we survived it. In my eyes it did not throw you around as much as the Hydra, but  still having some major loops and turns. I went on this three times, the last time in front.

Steel Force - this I think is one of the prized roller coasters. It is not that special to me, there are no loops or twists or any of that. It is fast and high though. You rise with that treacherous clicking noise 205 five feet, where you dive not very steeply into a tunnel and then go up and down and up and down and around until back to the station. It is pretty fun. I went on this twice, once halfway and once at the very end.

Revolution - this one was good, you spin around and rise in the air. We got the row that went the highest while we looked down on those that got nothing (HAHA!).

Those were all the rides I was on, but I should tell you the order. I will give the whole schedule.

  1. Hydra
  2. Thunderhawk
  3. Whip
  4. Wild Mouse
  5. Talon
  6. Hydra
  7. Steel Force
  8. Revolution(most air time)
  9. Voodoo(back)
  10. Voodoo
  11. Thunderhawk(back)
  12. Scrambler
  13. Talon
  14. Talon(front)
  15. Hydra(front)
  16. Steel Force

In between 4 and 5 we were in the water park. All the time there was not spent on these rides. While I was on the Whip, my friend Nick and sister Serena were on the dominator. Also around the time of the two Voodoos then my brother Eric was some rides across from there. Nick’s backpack was stolen in the Wildwater Kingdom, and was found in the entrance to the changing room, missing $43.

I had a great time, going on more furious rides than I have ever been on, and have lost fear of roller coasters. A few (first time Voodoo) took some pursaison and some I declined (Steel Force) the first time. That was pretty much my day though!

Edit : From my another later post, declaring I like it better now.

Mozilla Firefox 3.0 - After my last post yesterday, I bet there were mixed thoughts on Firefox 3.0. But now I must assure you to download it. I am not going to delete that post, for it showed my thoughts at the time, but I am going to tell you that it is fine.

Yesterday was the download day of Mozilla Firefox 3.0! I did take place in fact, and I’m here to talk about it.

I am sorry I didn’t talk about this yesterday, but Photoshop was doing it’s thing and it didn’t want me to have any other programs running(though I did have AIM).

You can still download now! Just go right here!

Before you download though you may want to consider some of the things I have to say. I am not as happy with Firefox 3 as I could be.

-It is new and improved. Well how? It does look a bit newer, but it looks similar to something else I’ve seen before (cough-micro-cough-soft-cough).

-I don’t like that it looks like IE8. That really does bother me. Though the whole thing does not completely copy IE8, then there is some deep similarity.

-The biggest reason why I hate it so much is that the ffing google toolbar doesn’t work. I use that daily. It has my bookmarks, a link to gmail that tells me if I have new mail and so on and so forth. Losing Google Toolbar is a huge downfall on Firefox 3.

-I am helping Mozialla reach the goal - I helped to reach the world record, which I guess brings my spirit up about it.

- Final thoughts - my final thoughts on Firefox 3.0 is that is you are in for some losses but a sleek look, then go for it. You can’t be motivated my helping Mozilla for the yesterday is over.(I think it was on a 24 hour basis though, so if you hurry you might make it)

Switching Over To Firefox

I have now pretty much decided that my main browser will be Mozilla Firefox. I owe this much to tech-buzz.net and and also part to a guest post by Karthik Kastury. It is about 10 great softwares that really help with a website. I have had Firefox for a while but have not really used it that much. I first installed it by following a link from tech-buzz, up at the top. Since sometime in January then I have been reading tech-buzz, by Thilak Raj Rao.

Now, about Firefox. I am not transferring completely, but with websites I am. I can use IE for stupid stuff like you tube videos or games, sites that don’t help you get very far in life. Well, maybe some of youtube is informational, but you can find written information as well. So, a few of the things or add-ons I installed for Firefox are:

StumbleUpon toolbar, which is just a handy toolbar for stumbleupon access, and will help you find information.

The next one I looked into was scribefire, and I am going to see about OpenDNS when I have more time.

Google calendar and Google notebook also work well. Sorry that there’s no link for those but it automatically logs me in.

The last ones I have invested in so far are Firebug and YSlow which work together and help with viewing stats, performance and things. Basically analyzing things.

The other things I am looking forward to! And be sure to read that post! There you can get short descriptions and complete links to the sites they came from to download them.

*Note* Most of the items listed are Firefox add-ons and therefore are only compatible with Firefox. But Firefox is one of the 10 best softwares.
